Critical Infrastructure Protection
A Real Time Alerting System: Tools & Models

UNIVERSITY ROMA TRE - AULA MAGNA (map)

Via Ostiense, 159, Rome, Italy

February 28th, 2011

In today’s world, most of Critical Infrastructures (CI) largely rely on Distributed ICT Systems. CIs are tightly interconnected, mutually (inter)dependent, and are exposed to risks growing with their technological evolution. (Inter)dependencies generate potential cascading effects that may spread, throughout the ICT backbone, initial perturbations, malicious attacks, accidental failures or natural events from a (part of) single CI to another (inter)dependent CI.

The Consortium of the FP7 project MICIE (www.micie.eu) organizes an International Workshop on a Real time Alerting system for security management and risk prediction of Quality of Services provided by interconnected of Power and Telecommunication CIs. It will take place on February 28th, 2011 at University Roma TRE in Rome and intends to share and compare knowledge and experiences gained inside the Project with researchers and operators in the field of CI protection.
